After my flight today, I was exhausted and hungry. I held off eating for a bit since I had a chicken salad at Chili's in the airport. I can't imagine that salad was 450 calories. There was harldy any chicken on it, a few kernals of corn and black beans, and a wad of lettuce with some chopped tomatoes. How is that 450? The dressing? I hardly used a 1/4th of it.
So it's 6:30 pm. I ate the last 100 calories an hour ago--3 oz of turkey and a few pickles. I'm hungry and still tired.
I have the kitchen door barricaded. Good thing my resolve to make this happen is strong!

The other night, during the Australian Open, commentator Pam Shriver had an interesting insight when Serena Williams had a moment of choking -- she double faulted twice in a row. (Even if you don't know tennis, just the term sounds bad. And it is.) To make it even worse, she double faulted in a pivotal moment of the match.
Pam first noted that she had never seen Serena, a champion, do that before. Then she added, "We all choke at some point...it's how you handle it, how you deal with it, how you overcome it, that matters."
I'm not saying you're choking or that resolve is slipping, but I know that you're like me and sometimes we go through times that test our resolve. So those are the times that we keep Pam's advice in mind.
Judging by your text this morning, saying you were on the way to the gym, you obviously know exactly "how to handle it, how to deal with it, and how to overcome it."
You are most triumphant, Marji!
Hugs, Donna
BTW, Serena won the match and is in the finals this weekend! :)
Hmmmm.
First of all, you have had a busy week, Marjorie, and remember "the body knows" as Kay Sheppard would say--and Chili's may use canned corn--which usually has sugar in it. So, it's possible that you have a bit of refined sugar in your system--which will trigger increased hunger.
No matter what, though, you made it! And I'm proud of you! :)
Love you,
Kathy
